If you are a Certified Veterinary Technician looking for an opportunity in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, we would like to hear from you.  Alpine Animal Hospital in Carbondale, CO is an AAHA accredited practice with Fear Free certified staff, providing a full range of in-patient care, dentistry, surgery and emergency services.  We are focused on nurturing long-term relationships that will serve our clients and patients. We are looking for a technically skilled individual with broad experience that is interested in joining and enhancing these partnerships.  Hours may include Saturdays with two days off during the week.  Requirements include certification as a veterinary technician, working knowledge of Avimark or another paperless patient records program.  Salary is commensurate with experience and employment includes health insurance, retirement plan, continuing education, uniform allowance and paid time off.  Preference will be given to qualified candidates who speak Spanish.  Drug testing may be required.

We are hopeful to find an individual who will want to make the valley and Alpine Animal Hospital home long-term and with the interest and potential to someday become a practice owner.  Our needs are for an experienced small animal general practitioner and surgeon.   

We are a mixed animal practice with four doctors, two companion animal, one Board Certified Dentist that also has an interest in equine dentistry, and one large animal doctor. We also have a veterinary intern program and have an annual intern that practices both large and small animal and lives on the property. Support staff are highly trained, motivated and happy.  Specialized focus for the practice includes: dentistry (both large and small), surgery, equine lameness, nutrition and preventative health and well-being.  We are a spacious and very well equipped AAHA accredited hospital and we also have Fear Free certified staff.

Our staff enthusiastically provides the very best care for our patients and empathy for our clients.  Located on the western slope of Colorado, our valley is a wonderful place to raise a family, trail ride and pursue all kinds of outdoor activity.  We have fabulous schools and an abundance of small town social and cultural events that could compete on a global scale.  Most of the valley is extremely pet friendly and our clients are interested in taking good care of their animals. We work very hard to nurture long-term relationships that will serve our patients and our clients and we strive to provide job satisfaction and life balance for our staff.  We are looking for someone who is interested in joining and enhancing these partnerships.  

Our work features:

  1. Ultrasound, digital x-ray, shockwave, endoscopy, a full service lab and pharmacy, a full dental suite, and large and small animal surgical suites
  2. Ambulatory and home health care services
  3. A designated feline only room for our feline patients
  4. A designated comfort room and garden for saying good-bye to your companion
  5. A 10,000 square foot facility that allows us to provide full service large and small animal services very efficiently

We are open six (6) days per week and all staff currently work a 4 day week.  Emergency on-call is available but we also have an emergency clinic in the valley for small animal patients.  We offer a competitive salary based on production pay, paid-time-off, continuing education, health insurance, professional membership and licensure.

Our top candidates will be a licensed veterinarian in Colorado (or the ability to be so) and have at least 3 years’ experience - including a solid comfort level in providing routine surgeries. Comfort and experience with the unique aspects of rural practice is desired.
